St. Alcuin has forged a tradition of experiences that its graduates continue to remember and be affected by for years to come. The Challenging Educational Experience (C.E.E) program consists of experience beginning in the Upper Elementary classroom and continuing through Middle School.
Each Upper Elementary classroom goes on a weeklong campout and participates in hiking, kayaking, cooking, and educational outdoor activities. With more specific activities determined by the location (each of the three years in Upper Elementary the location will be different) the campouts prove to be a memorable experience.
In Middle School students experience two trips a year. Each year the Middle School class flies to Mexico for a Spanish immersion trip. After taking Spanish classes during the day the students experience Mexico's culture and history in a variety of trips out of and around the city.
One year of Middle School will send students to Washington D.C. for studies and an enriching experience of our nation's history. With daily trips to different landmarks and studies before and after the trip students are provided with a complete and rich education experience.
The other year of Middle School students embark on a truly challenging trip to Big Bend National Park. Both physically and mentally challenging, this trip provides students with a rare opportunity to be immersed in the natural world. Backpacking, camping, and canoeing, the Middle School devotes a full week to teamwork, building endurance, and earning the pride of accomplishment.
