The mission of the St. Alcuin library staff is to provide resources to support the St. Alcuin Montessori School curriculum and to encourage the development of intellectual curiosity and a joy of reading on the part of students.
The St. Alcuin Library has approximately 18,000 books and five computers. Three computers are dedicated to the patron catalog and two for word processing and Internet research.
Primary and Lower Elementary classrooms have a special time in the Elementary Library each week to check out take-home reading materials. Upper Elementary and Middle School students have open hours. Students at all levels come to the library for research purposes as needed.
The St. Alcuin Acceptable Use Policy is signed by all patrons using the Internet. Internet use in the Library is reserved for research purposes and students are requested to complete a form indicating the subject of their research. The form is completed in the classroom and signed by the teacher. Internet Safety and rules for good netiquette are important concerns at St. Alcuin Montessori School.
Our staff and volunteers strive to provide a warm and friendly environment with guidelines to promote respect for each individual who is a part of our school community.
